Welcome Dan Coy & Lysa Morris

Updated: Aug 24, 2023

We are pleased to welcome two new staff members to School Ministries Ohio!

Lysa Morris

Assistant Director

Spring came this year with new beginnings, we welcomed Lysa Morris as Assistant Director and she came to us with significant experience and a successful track record in helping many Released Time programs get started, sustain and grow! In her career working in communications, video production and process management to name a few, she developed strong skills that compliment her deep commitment to serve those who serve others and passion for building strong relationships and bridges that lead children to Jesus.

She's embraced her role, visiting School Ministries Ohio (SMO) programs, walking alongside to help equip and support communities throughout the state, interacting with school administrators and more!

Lysa met her husband of 25 years, John and his daughters Natalie and Crystal in 1994 and God blessed their family with two more daughters, Toni and Kaysi and later two sons in law and five grandchildren.

"I'm grateful to be a part of this ministry, prayerful for the Lord to direct my steps and make them sure and motivated to help ensure RTBE is accessible in every community bringing hope and truth to all (children) public-school students! The harvest is plentiful, RT is legal and we offer experienced support, 'no launch fees', the Sue Yount Memorial Get Going Grant and more! Contact me and let's journey together in His perfect timing to start, sustain and grow a local program for your community." --Lysa Morris

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” - Matthew 19:14

Dan Coy

Director of Development & Outreach

Dan Coy joined the staff of School Ministries Ohio as Director of Development and Outreach in July of 2023. A veteran youth pastor and leader, Dan is involved in recruiting, shaping, and empowering young leaders to live by Biblical principles and impact every area of their culture. He presently meets with all types of individuals who care deeply about creating a solid platform of truth for children of all ages to read, hear, and believe in the stories of the Bible during their public-school day. Giving his life to shaping conversations and programming around principled lifestyles versus preferential living, Dan knows many students today do not have anyone around them that teaches Biblical truth or that models a Christ centered lifestyle. From his many years of working with students, their families, and campuses, Dan also blends business and leadership strategies that offer support to the growing number of volunteers and students that School Ministries Ohio is privileged to serve. Married to his high school sweetheart, Janice, they have 2 married children and 6 grandchildren.

Dan’s Bible verse of focus is James 1:27, “Religion that is pure and underlined before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world."
